Meet the group at 1300 hrs at the Malta International Airport for check-in on your direct Air Malta flight to Lisbon, Portugal departing at 1515 hrs. Upon arrival at 1730 hrs, your private coach will take you to the 4* Lutecia Smart Design Hotel for check in and room allocation. Later head to a local Portugese Restaurant for a welcome dinner before overnight.

Today, after breakfast, join your fellow group members for a full day excursion to Lisbon, Portugal’s capital city, your home for the next few days. Built on seven hillsides overlooking the Rio Tejo, Lisbon’s postcard-perfect panorama of cobbled alleyways, ancient ruins and white-domed cathedrals will await your discovery together with our English-speaking local guide. During your free time visit your favourite hotspot in Lisbon, before making your way towards Belem tower and the adjacent Jeronimo Monastery (entrance included) which is a UNESCO listed monastery. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight

After breakfast, enjoy another splendid day to Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Cascais. Drive along Portugal’s unspoiled Atlantic coast to the historical town of Sintra. Sintra is like a page torn from a fairy tale. Its UNESO world Heritage-listed centre, is dotted with pastel-hued manors folded into luxuriant hills that roll down to the blue Atlantic. Later head to Cabo da Roca cliffs to admire the breath-taking landscapes of the westernmost point on mainland Europe. Proceed towards Cascais, a popular fishing-village-turned-resort-town, before returning to Lisbon for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, and checkout, your private coach will head its way to Fatima, but not before a visit to Obidos. Surrounded by a classic crenellated wall, Óbidos’ gorgeous historic centre is a labyrinth of cobblestoned streets and flower-bedecked, whitewashed houses livened up with dashes of vivid yellow and blue paint. The main gate, Porta da Vila, leads directly into the main street, Rua Direita, lined with chocolate and cherry-liqueur shops. Later head to Fatima for check-in and room allocation before a trip to Aljustrel to visit the house where the three little shepherds: Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco used to live in. Continue your way to Valinhos to take part in the Stations of the Cross and then continue your way back to Fatima for dinner and overnight

Today, after breakfast enjoy your free day in Fatima. Stand awe-struck in the middle of the Sanctuary of Fatima. As the story goes, 101 years ago in 1917, the Virgin Mary appeared to three children who were tending sheep in the fields, and she shared special messages with them. Months later in October, a crowd of tens of thousands who heard the children’s stories visited the location and witnessed a great “Miracle of the Sun” where different people reported various sightings including “seeing the sun dance.” It’s hard to believe that this grassy field is now where you will find the Sanctuary of Fátima, a massive, jaw-dropping religious complex that draws large crowds daily, consisting of religious followers and curious travellers. It is also the bucket-list destination for pilgrims journeying through Portugal. Walk around the square to see the chapel and Basilica, light a candle and say a prayer if you’re so inclined, and appreciate this massive architectural feat in the middle of rural Portugal.

After breakfast we encourage you to join your tour leader for a full day excursion to the region west of Fatima. Start your day by driving towards Batalha for a chance to visit the abbey where solid rock has been carved into forms as delicate as snowflakes and as pliable as twisted rope. Then continue your way to Alcobaca for a chance to visit the famous monastery before continuing your way towards Nazare with its narrow-cobbled lanes running down to a wide, cliff-backed beach. Later head back to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast join your fellow group members for an excursion to Tomar one of central Portugal’s most appealing small towns. With its pedestrian-friendly historic centre, its pretty riverside park frequented by swans, herons and families of ducks, and its charming natural setting adjacent to the lush Mata Nacional dos Sete Montes, it wins lots of points for aesthetics. Later head to Portugal’s largest cave system (entrance included): Mira de Aira. Inaugurated in 1974, more than 6 million visitors have visited such caves considered as one of the seven natural wonders of Portugal. Return back to Fatima for some free time before dinner and overnight.

Today after breakfast and checkout, start your way towards Porto, but not before a visit to Coimbra, a charming university town. A visit to the famous Coimbra library is included. The medieval capital of Portugal wears its weighty importance in Portuguese history with dignity. Its atmospheric, beautiful historic core cascades down a hillside in a lovely setting on the east bank of the Rio Mondego. Coimbra is also famous as it is here that sister Lucia used to live in the Carmelite convent within the city. Later you will arrive in Porto for check in, room allocation, dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, join your English-speaking local guide for a full day excursion to the second largest Portuguese city: Porto. Porto, also known as ‘Invicta’ is reputable as the working horse city of Portugal. You will start the day by driving towards the city and visit the Avenue of Aliados and the train station of Sao Bento with its admirable and traditional white and blue tiles. Enjoy a coffee (extra) in the majestic Café, one of Europe’s oldest café and then continue towards the district of Ribeira, declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. Together with the group you will have the opportunity to visit the Palacio de Bolsa/Stock Exchange palace (entrance included), before lunch (extra). In the afternoon you may want to join your fellow group members for a mini cruise on the river Douro (extra). Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast and Check out, your private coach will transfer you to Porto’s airport for your flight back to Malta departing at 1115hrs.
