Itinerary

Meet the tour leader at the Malta International Airport at 23:00 hrs of Saturday the 7th of September for check in of your Air Malta direct flight to Tel Aviv. Upon arrival, your private deluxe bus will start its way towards Mount Tabor, where Our Lord experienced his transfiguration, but not before breakfast in the city of Haifa. On Mount Tabor, with its scenic Church of the Transfiguration, the group will con-celebrate mass, and then head to Cana, a village close to Nazareth where Jesus performed his first miracle by transforming water to wine at a wedding. Married couples will have the opportunity to renew their marriage vows here. Soon afterwards you will head towards Nazareth for check in and room allocation before Lunch. In the afternoon, the group will head towards the Annunciation Church and the Nutrition Church for some free time before dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Today is dedicated to the places where Jesus acted around the Sea of Galilee. After breakfast start your day with a visit to the Mount of the Beatitudes, where the Sermon on the Mount was given. Mass will be con-celebrated at the Primacy of Peter, before heading to Tabgha, which is traditionally accepted as the place of the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes. You will also set sail on a boat similar to the boat used by Jesus and his disciples. After Lunch, served at St. Peter’s fish restaurant, you will head towards Capernaum. Capernaum, located on the north western shore of the Sea of Galilee, is one of the mostly cited locations in the Holy Scriptures, and it is claimed by the Gospel of John, that the apostles of Jesus, namely Peter, Andrew, James and John all hailed from the area. A visit to the famous synagogue few meters away from the Saint Peter Memorial is a must. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Today after breakfast and checkout, you will head towards the northern borders of the neighbouring country of Jordan. You will have the opportunity to visit Mount Mebo, where the day’s mass concelebration will be held. Later continue your way towards the modern town of Jerash, with its provincial streets and small market gardens, you see little to suggest its illustrious past. But the moment you cross from the new town into the ancient city, its boundary marked by the imposing Hadrian’s Arch, it becomes apparent that this was once no ordinary backwater but a city of great wealth and importance. After Lunch in a Lebanese Restaurant, you will head towards Amman, the Capital of Jordan for hotel check in, room allocation, dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, head towards Petra, the great ancient city that lies half-hidden in the wind-blown landscape in southern Jordan. Today one of the world’s most treasured Unesco Heritage Sites and voted by popular ballot in 2007 as one of the ‘New Seven Wonders of the World’. Lunch at the Antarah restaurant will be provided for all before your return transfer back to Amman for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast and checkout you will head back towards Israel through the Allenby bridge. You will also have a chance to visit River Jordan to re-confirm your baptismal vows. Later head to Qumran, where the famous “Dead Sea Scrolls” were found and learn about the life of the Esseans, who lived a life that was very similar to the life and ideas of Jesus and his disciples. Later continue your way towards before driving towards the place where the Sycamore Tree, on which tradition says that Zacchaeus the tax-collector climbed in order to see The Lord. You will also have the opportunity to visit Temptation Mount, before check in at your hotel in Jericho for check in and some free time, where you can enjoy yourself in this beautiful hotel before dinner an overnight.

After breakfast and checkout join your guide and the spiritual director and drive to Beit Sahur to visit the Church of the Shepherds Fields. Than continue to Bethlehem and visit the ancient Church of Nativity, the very place where Jesus was born, with the Catholic St. Catherine Church housing the tombs of the Forty Innocent Children, as well as the Milk Grotto. Mass will be concelebrated at the Shepherd’s field. In the afternoon after lunch, head to Jerusalem for check in and room allocation before dinner and overnight

Join the group for an early wake up today, in order to take part in mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, before returning to your hotel for breakfast. Soon afterwards continue your day by re-entering the Old city of Jerusalem and its Jewish quarter at the famous Western wall also known as the Wailing Wall. Jews from all over the world come here to worship at the remnants of the platform upon which the Second Temple was built. Saint John Paul II, during his pilgrimage to Israel also prayed here according to the Jewish custom by placing a written prayer, a kvitle, in the cracks of the Wall. You will also have a magnificent panoramic view of Temple Mount with the Dome of the Rock and the Al Aksa Mosque. Afterwards, together with your local licensed guide and the spiritual director experience that dramatic Friday, when Jesus was crucified, following the “Via Dolorosa”. After lunch re-visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, where you will have the opportunity to see the Hill of Calvary (Golgotha) and the empty Tomb of Jesus. Return to your hotel in time for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, join your fellow group members, and head towards the Garden of Olives where we will visit the Pater Noster Church situated on the spot where Jesus taught this prayer to his disciples. Later take the steep road down to the Dominus Flevit Church, where the Lord wept over the destruction of the Temple. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Getsemane gardens and the All nations church where mass will be concelebrated. Lunch will be served back at the hotel, whilst in the afternoon one can visit the Mamila Avenue Mall for some deserved shopping time. Later head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, journey to the Franciscan church built over what is said to have been the home of Zacharias and Elizabeth in Ein Karem and named in honour of Mary’s visit to Elizabeth. We visit also the spot marking the birthplace of John the Baptist. Before entering the church we will view and pray the Magnificat inscribed in Maltese on the walls of the parvis. Mass will be said at the St. Joseph Church before lunch in Ein Karem. Later continue your journey towards Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial. You will also have the opportunity to visit the huge Menorah (candelabra) situated in front of the Knesset, housing Israel’s Parliament. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight

After early breakfast and checkout, head towards Tel Aviv’s airport for check in of your direct Air Malta flight back to Malta.
