In the afternoon, board your motor coach for a scenic guided drive through the ruggedly beautiful Scottish landscapes. Disembark near Edinburgh Castle perched at the top of the Royal Mile. Tattoo” is the traditional signal used to call British soldiers to return to their quarters. Over time, the custom evolved to become one of the world’s most spectacular visual and musical celebrations. From the stands (tickets included) on the castle’s beautiful esplanade, you’ll watch as an ensemble cast of international performers regales you with a vibrant pageant of folkloric dance, historic re-enactments and military precision displays. Feel your heart synchronize to the commanding rhythm of the Massed Pipes and Drums, played by the Bands of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines, along with visiting civilians and military bands – a tribute to the traditional battle signals of Scotland’s Regiments. On our optional excursion of today, you will get to know the largest and proudest city in Ireland. As you meander through Dublin’s ancient streets, you’ll see St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the country’s largest church, where St. Patrick is said to have baptized converts around 450 AD. You’ll also pass Dublin Castle, the seat of English rule for seven centuries. Then, stroll the green lawns and cobbled squares of Trinity College, as you explore the best of Ireland’s capital city. However, no visit to Dublin would be complete without a pint (or two) of Guinness (not included) at one of the city’s many pubs.
The port of Cork is a charming town of colourful Victorian architecture with a salty maritime heritage. During our optional excursion, enjoy a brief exploration of the city of Cork, where coastal steamers busily unload their cargoes, before heading to the famous village of Blarney, home to some of Ireland’s greatest folklore legends. You’ll feel the old-world nostalgia as you wander about this tiny village nestled in the green countryside. Look up to see the grand castle looking down from a distance. Visit the old Blarney Woollen Mill to shop for treasures brought from across Ireland. Stroll the narrow streets and strike up conversations with the local artisans as you discover Ireland’s most storied village.
The rugged seascapes and lushly bucolic landscapes of the island of Guernsey have inspired artists and writers on a panoramic island tour. Its capital of St. Peter Port charms with cobbled streets, pretty harbour and boat-filled marina. Perhaps, the most striking feature of Guernsey is the island itself. Join our optional excursion, and discover the landscape which is deep green dotted by wildflowers and gardens. The climate is ideal and the island is made for exploring. You will visit the Little Chapel, set along a tree lined country path. Travel along the west coast before reaching the Gold and Silversmiths. Watch as they craft their wares. As your cruise holiday is slowly coming to an end, take full advantage of your last day at sea to relax and make use of the facilities this ship has to offer. You will be instructed to leave your luggage outside your stateroom by midnight, as these will be then transported early morning ashore by the ship’s crew.
After an early breakfast, we disembark the ship, collect the luggage from the designated area at the terminal and proceed to the airport for Check In of our Air Malta Flight, departing from Amsterdam at 11:50, arriving in Malta at approximately 14:50.
