Meet the tour leader at the Malta International Airport for check in on your direct Ryan Air flight to Marseille departing at 08:20 hrs. Upon arrival your private coach will take you to your Ibis Styles Hotel in Menton, for check in and room allocation. The seaside town of Menton offers a glimpse of what the high life on the Riviera must have been like before the developers moved in. With its sunny climate, shady streets and pastel mansions – not to mention a lovely old port – it’s one of the most attractive towns on the entire coast. Menton’s old town is a cascade of pastel-coloured buildings. To French people, the town is also known for its lemons, which are renowned for their particular flavour. Later join your tour leader and the English-speaking local guide for a short excursion to the Italian town of San Remo. Italy's own Monte Carlo, a sun-dappled Mediterranean resort with a casino, a clutch of ostentatious villas and lashings of Riviera-style grandeur. Known colloquially as the City of Flowers for its colourful summer blooms, San Remo also stages an annual music festival (the supposed inspiration for the Eurovision Song Contest) and the world's longest professional one-day cycling race, the 298km Milan–San Remo classic. Later head back to Menton for dinner (optional) and overnight.
Today we offer you an unforgettable full day excursion to Monaco. Monaco might be the world’s second-smallest country (only the Vatican is smaller), but what it lacks in size it makes up for in attitude. A magnet for high-rollers and hedonists since the early 20th century, it's also renowned as one of the world's most notorious tax havens and home to the annual Formula One Grand Prix. During the mid-19th century the city became a magnet for regal European exiles, such as Empress Elisabeth of Austria and Tsar Nicola of Russia, who favoured the town's balmy winters. Swedish inventor Alfred Nobel maintained a villa here, and an onion-domed Russian Orthodox church reminiscent of Moscow's St Basil's Cathedral still turns heads down by the seafront. Later head back to Menton for dinner (optional) and overnight.
After breakfast and checkout your private coach will transfer you to Savona’s Cruise liner terminal in time for your embarkation onboard Costa Fascinosa the most glamorous ship in Costa Crociere’s fleet. Travelling on Costa Fascinosa you’ll be surrounded by cinema legends from Luchino Visconti to David Lynch and their most famous creations. Refined and intriguing environments, charming and fascinating atmospheres for a cruise surrounded by the greatest starts of the best movies of all time.
From bow to stern, full enjoyment ahead for the active ones during your morning at sea. Pamper yourself at the sauna or just relax by the pool. Don’t miss out to shop for some variety name-brand and the duty-free shopping or try to discover the restaurants on board. In the afternoon, the ship will arrive in Naples for an afternoon/evening of pure bliss. Join one of the excursion packages (extra) organised by Costa’s onshore excursion team or wander around this raw, high-octane energy city blessed with rich volcanic soils, a bountiful sea, and countless generations of culinary know-how. It is here that you will find the country's best pizza, pasta and espresso, its most appetizing street markets, not to mention some of its most celebrated dishes.
Enjoy your abundant breakfast before making landfall in the Sicilian city of Catania at around noon. For all the noise, chaos and scruffiness that hit the visitor at first glance, Catania has a strong magnetic pull. This is Sicily at its most youthful, a city packed with cool and gritty bars, abundant energy and an earthy spirit. Catania’s historic core is a UNESCO-listed wonder, where black-and-white palazzi tower over sweeping baroque piazzas.
Make sure to head towards the Costa Fascinosa upper decks early in the morning, as the ship enters the magnificent Grand Harbour. Later enjoy your last breakfast before your disembarkation.
