After a hearty breakfast on board, today we suggest you explore the main sights of this modern, pulsating town with a varied cultural scene, exciting cafés and restaurants and a rich assortment of shops.Enjoy some free time to browse around the shops before returning to the ship in time for departure at 1900hrs.
Today will take you to Shetland’s only town, Lerwick, a bustling, cosmopolitan seaport with services and amenities only found in much larger places on the British mainland. The extensive leisure and entertainment facilities provide warm hospitality to visitors. The old waterfront is thronged with pleasure boats, visiting yachts, historic craft and working fishing boats. Explore a variety of lively bars and clubs, ranging from popular “theme” bars to more traditional hostelries. Ship will set sail at 17:00hrs.

After breakfast you will enter the port of Akureyri, the second largest city in Iceland. Located on Iceland’s longest fjord, Eyjafjordur, Akureyri has been settled since Vikings arrived in the 9th century.Today’s most popular trip is to Lake Myvatn, an hour’s drive away. Located in this district is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland, The Gooafoss. The water of the river Skjalfandafjot falls from a height of 12 metres over a width of 30 meters. The trip usually includes a stop at the sulfurous steaming ‘mud pots’. The ship shall depart from the port at 1900hrs.

Today’s port of call is located in the north east, short drive away from the most beautiful cityscapes in the world, Edinburgh. Built on extinct volcanoes atop an inlet from the North Sea and enveloped by rolling hills, lochs and forests, Edinburgh invites exploration. This is a city of elegant streets, cobbled alleys and incomparable sunsets.
This last full day prior to the end of your wonderful cruise shall be spent at sea. You again shall have ample time to relax and make use of the facilities and other amenities this remarkable ship has to offer. In the evening you will be instructed to leave your luggage outside your stateroom as bags are transported ashore by NCL personnel early next morning.
Ship docks in Southampton at 0800hrs. Enjoy a last breakfast on board as your cruise holiday comes to an end. Once ashore a coach will be in attendance to transfer you to Heathrow Airport. You will stop en-route to enjoy some free time and last minute shopping. Later in the afternoon you will continue with your transfer to the airport for check in on Air Malta flight scheduled to depart at 2030hrs. Expected time of arrival in Malta will be at 0040hrs (18th September).
