The morning is free to enjoy Miami. The Cuban influence in Miami is reflected in the cafes and cigar shops that line Calle Ocho in Little Havana. On barrier islands across the turquoise waters of Biscayne Bay is Miami Beach, home to South Beach. This glamorous neighborhood is famed for its colorful art deco buildings, white sand, surfside hotels and trendsetting nightclubs. Towards midday, you will be transferred to the cruise port to check in on board the Empress of the Seas. Ship will set sail at 16:00 hrs.

Lying roughly 90 miles north of Cuba, Key West is the southernmost city in the United Sates. It is laid back, eclectic and brimming with island charm. Discover Key West’s 19th century character in Old Town, whose leafy streets are lined with Victorian homes, quaint cottages and grand mansions. The streets of Key West are alive with life, buskers providing impromptu entertainment for those lingering at sidewalk cafes of browsing the many stores. There need never be a dull moment for any visitor to Key West.

A day at sea is never boring on Royal Caribbean. There is an activity program for guests of all ages and tastes. Programs run all day from dawn to dusk.

Our first port in Cuba will be Cienfuegos, called ‘the Pearl of the South’ for the impressive beauty of its bay; for its seductive city and for the innate nobility which characterizes those born here. You will need to join our excursion in order to be able to experience all this. This full-day exploration takes you from the fortified beauty of the 18th century Jagua castle to the fresco-laden Tomas Terry Theatre. You will explore Cuba’s maritime history and hear tales of the castle’s namesake, Our Lady of the Angels, while viewing its solid limestone watch tower and perfectly preserved drawbridge. Back in Cienfuegos you’ll admire the gold-leafed mosaics and colorful frescoes of historic Tomas Terry Theatre, built in the 19th century by a Venezuelan industrialist of the same name. You will have the opportunity to savor local cuisine in a Cuban café and top off the day with a bit of shopping along Santa Isabel Boulevard, making sure to bring home authentic souvenirs.

Relax and enjoy the facilities and entertainment on board the ship. The ship’s animators shall also be organizing a number of activities on various decks and lounges, so it’s entirely up to you to participate! For those who prefer a quiet moment, you may opt for a relaxing sauna.

Legendary nightlife, iconic music and distinct culture is what make ups Havana. You will arrive in Havana in the afternoon and will have the opportunity by taking our excursion in order to spend a wonderful evening delving into the history, culture and nightlife of Havana while on a four-hour escapade that includes a walk through Old Havana, plus the Hotel Nacional's Hall of Fame. Head out on foot across the cobblestone streets and illuminated cityscapes of Old Havana. Admire bubbling fountains in Plaza de San Francisco and 18th-century Baroque architecture in Plaza de la Catedral. Step inside Bodeguita del Medio, a historic watering hole and former hangout of American novelist Ernest Hemingway. Watch the bartender mix up a traditional Cuban mojito behind the bar where the cocktail was invented, then sip your own sweet-minty drink. Top off the evening among the opulent surroundings of Hotel Nacional, surrounded by grand chandeliers and mahogany touches. Opened in 1930, this luxury hotel has had a slew of celebrity guests, from Fred Astaire and Frank Sinatra to U.S. President Jimmy Carter, Walt Disney and Leonardo DiCaprio. This is a one-night-only type of tour in Cuba's capital city, since the ship will stay in Havana for overnight.

Enjoy breakfast on board the ship before joining our organized excursion. Sit back, relax and get ready to see Havana in the comfort of an air-conditioned motor coach on a trip that includes photo stops at a religious sculpture, political building, sprawling Plaza de la Revolucion, stately fortresses and more. Your three-hour bus tour begins with a ride along El Malecon, Havana’s 8-kilometer- long seaside esplanade, which has long served as a popular gathering place for locals. While standing in Plaza de la Revolucion, you’ll hear stories of the many large-scale political rallies held here. Moving on, you’ll pass by Fusterlandia, a vibrant arts complex bedecked with colorful mosaics hand-made by Jose Fuster, one of Cuba’s iconic artists. You’ll then embark on a tour of El Capitolio, the National Capitol Building that served as seat of the Cuban Congress until 1959, before stopping by El Morro Castle. Built in 1589, this hilltop fortress guards the entrance to the bay in Havana. Finally, marvel El Cristo del la Habana, a large marble sculpture representing Jesus of Nazareth created by Cuban sculptor Jilma Madera. Ship will sail from Havana at 14:00 hrs.

Today is your final day at sea. Curl up with a good book, or treat yourself to a luxurious spa treatment. Sun worshippers may lay down on a sun-bed or deck chair by the pool lapping in the sun whilst the more active and energetic clients may enjoy the on-board activities or aerobic classes.

It’s the end of your fabulous cruise. Stay on deck and enjoy one last breakfast until you’re called to disembark. A private coach will take you to Miami Airport to check-in on your Turkish Airlines flight departing at 2315hrs.

Flight is scheduled to arrive in Istanbul at 17:30 hrs (local time in Turkey) and you shall transit for the next flight departing Istanbul at 18:50 hrs and arriving in Malta at 19:20 hrs.
